Get ready for a spooky day of pickleball for a good cause!
Join ReCreate Appalachia for the Cryptid Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Westmoreland Park Pickleball Courts in Huntington, WV. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just looking for a fun way to celebrate spooky season, everyone is welcome.
Tournament Details

- Location: Westmoreland Park Pickleball Courts
- Check-in: 8:00 AM
- Registration: $25 per person
- Format: Coed Round Robin + Championship Playoff
- Skill Levels: All skill levels are welcome
- Costumes: Players are encouraged to dress as their favorite cryptid. Bigfoot, Mothman, Flatwoods Monster, and every creature in between are welcome! Costumes are not required to play.
- Prizes: Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place teams, and for best costume!
Your registration fee directly supports Art From Within, ReCreate Appalachia’s program that provides creative opportunities for artists with disabilities.
Just across the street at West Edge Factory, our monthly First Saturday Market runs from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, featuring regional artists, handmade goods, food trucks, live music, and community activities, so there will be lots to do when you have a break!
Be sure to stop by the Haunted Holler exhibition in the Turret Gallery, showcasing spooky, eerie, and Appalachian-inspired artwork to kick off the Halloween season.
To make the day even more memorable, the Hoot & Holler Community Band will be on hand to kick off the tournament with a lively musical sendoff.
